From Mickey Mouse to Minions, from Hello Kitty to Snow White, Fang and her son could not believe that these well known cartoon figures from all over the world were made in a mostly rural Chinese county.

Digitalization has proved its value in a pandemic-ravaged era, especially for China, which showed outstanding performance of digital transformation in 2021, with the overall production cycle shortened by 35.8 percent due to its digital shift, Kitty Fok, president of global market research firm International Data Corp (IDC) China, told China Daily recently.

"Although the most serious stage of the epidemic crisis is over, recovering from economic chaos and adapting to more lasting social and business changes will dominate IT investment decisions and reshape its priorities for the next five years," IDC China managing director Kitty Fok said.
Kitty Fok, managing director of market research company International Data Corp, said amid the outbreak, companies wanting to create more value need to adopt digital-first operations.
"Global GDP generated by digitization will reach $46 trillion, accounting for 46 percent of the economic aggregate," said IDC China managing director Kitty Fok, predicting that digital transformation will enter 2.0 era in the next five years.
Digital economy development is on a fastxa0track, and global direct investment in the digital transformation will reach $5.5 trillion from 2019 to 2021, said Kitty Fok, managing director of market consultancyxa0IDC China, at the recent IDC China annual ceremony for digital transformation.
The first-half profit breakdown showed Industrial and Commercial Bank of China netted 173.74 billion yuan, China Construction Bank earned 167.34 billion yuan, Agricultural Bank of China bagged 133.23 billion yuan, Bank of China took home 120.10 billion yuan, Postal Savings Bank of China had 49.56 billion yuan in its kitty and Bank of Communications was richer by 46.04 billion yuan.
Digital transformation is an increasingly popular choice for firms and is expanding into corporate culture, customer service and other aspects, said Kitty Fok, IDC China's managing director.
Kitty Fok, president of IDC China, said the research company will do more in finance sector to help its clients catch up with technological changes.
