On Aug 21, all 15 RCEP economies convened for the second ministerial meeting after the pact was implemented, where they continued discussions on the admission of new members and resolved to reach consensus faster, said Shu Jueting, spokeswoman for the ministry.

China hopes that all member countries could accelerate the discussions about the procedures of new members' joining of the pact, and reach an agreement as soon as possible to prepare for other economies to join the agreement, Li said.

Apart from introducing its latest environmentally friendly products made of glass, reeds and grains to European customers, Yu said the company will actively explore emerging markets, especially North African and Middle East nations, as well as signatory countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership pact, to further diversify its sales channels in the years ahead.

At the same time, more than 80 percent of Chinese companies were optimistic about growth prospects of foreign investment, and about 90 percent were sanguine on investment opportunities in signatory countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership pact, according to a new survey released by the Beijing-based China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in late February.

Involving Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations--- Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, the RCEP trade pact has so far taken effect in most members.

With the pact coming into force on Jan 1, 2022, the RCEP comprises 15 Asia-Pacific countries, namely 10 member economies of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and five other trading partners — China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

With the agreement entering into force for Indonesia on Jan 2 of this year, only the Philippines remains to have not yet ratified and implemented the pact.
