Rana Sherif, a fresh graduate from a Chinese-learning college in Cairo's Ain Sham University, has been working as an Arabic-Chinese interpreter for New Hope for a few months.

Katie Sham, an Oliver Wyman principal and the lead of the study, added that people prefer self-driving tours over buses, which is expected to increase demand for car rentals and customized tour services.

"Players in the tourism industry should therefore seize upon these opportunities by quickly developing products and services that provide customized tour plans and unique local experiences, including trying authentic local food and drinks, and taking part in special activities," Sham said.

To update tourists' travel experience, Hong Kong Tourism Board promotes a tour with local feature, namely "Hong Kong Neighbourhood - Sham Shui Po" for in-depth tour fans to immerse themselves in the living culture of Hong Kong.

Located at the western part of Kowloon, a 30-minute drive from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, Sham Shui Po boasts Mei Ho House which used to be part of Hong Kong's oldest public housing complex, Kung Wo beancurd factory where neighbors gather for meals, and Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre where tourists can experience a wide array of art forms.

Apart from Sham Shui Po, Central is another district Hong Kong Tourism Board promotes.

"The electric car is the future," said Wellen Sham, the company's chairman and CEO.

Sham said the company plans to build a factory in Catalonia, Spain, with the potential to produce 40,000 cars a year.

It has a capacity of 100,000 vehicles a year and will increase production to 200,000 a year by 2025, Sham said.

The range is the result of its lightweight body, low air drag and more efficient battery pack, according to its Chairman & CEO Wellen Sham, a Chinese American born in Hong Kong.

Sham said Thunder Power's core competence lies in its proprietary technologies in the fields of battery management, thermal management and chassis technologies.

Sham said Thunder Power has also commissioned JP Morgan to finance $500 million for its development.

When asked about future products, Sham said they will feature more cutting-edge applications.
