CTCE currently has 24 engineering companies, five subordinate units, four business operation centers, 10 regional project headquarters, as well as a large group of domestic operating offices and overseas operating offices, said Song Heng, a CTCE official.
CTCE's sales reached 209.6 billion yuan ($32.7 billion) in 2020, with a revenue of 113 billion yuan, Song said.
"Establishing a strong overseas presence, especially in the wind, solar and hydropower sectors, is a key component of our business strategy to become a world-class clean energy group," said Song Hailiang, president of Energy China Group, adding the group sees tremendous potential in clean energy development for years to come, especially in countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Song said Energy China Group has built a sound reputation on the global stage in the past few years with its high-quality projects, including the NK/JC hydropower plant in Argentina, the Tengger Reservoir 60 MW floating PV project in Singapore, the Sao Lourenco water supply project in Brazil, and the Umm Al Quwain independent water project in the United Arab Emirates.

Song believes the Magnum case is not unique, and many foreign brands entering China have similar problems.
The current industrial standards for ice cream in China are relatively broad, which enables enterprises to seek solutions to reap the largest profit, Song said, adding the country could release more specific standards for ice cream to ensure quality.
"The next decade will be critical for governments and businesses across the world to respond to climate change," said Song Xin, chairman of Beijing-headquartered CECEP.
With China aiming to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, the nation's carbon pledges, backed by its technology accumulation and complete industrial chain, will play a major role domestically and internationally in innovation, which should help meet its objectives, said Song.
To better integrate into China's new development pattern, including the dual-circulation development pattern, one of Siemens' growth focuses is to reinforce collaboration with SOEs and other leading companies in the nation as they have huge demand to further improve their operational efficiency and cut carbon emissions through digital solutions, said Xiao Song, Siemens' global executive vice-president.

Although China saw rapid development of the solid waste management and recycling sectors, it still faces great challenges, Song said.
Other challenges in managing and recycling solid waste include low utilization rates, insufficient added-value production, high costs, inadequate investment into research and development of core technologies, and excess capacity," Song added.
Facing challenges, Song suggested setting up a national online platform that shares information on managing and recycling industrial solid waste and creating a database covering key areas and industries.
